Ken Kemp
Founder & Principal
A lifelong resident of the greater Seattle area, Ken Kemp has deep roots in the community he has proudly served for more than three decades. Growing up in Bellevue, Washington, and attending Washington State University, Ken developed an appreciation for quality, craftsmanship, and the importance of building lasting relationships.
With over 30 years of experience in residential construction, Ken has been involved in every aspect of the building process—from land development and project planning to client relationships, financial management, and construction oversight. Under his leadership, Kemp Homes & Development has successfully built more than 150 high-end homes throughout King and Snohomish Counties.
Today, Ken remains personally involved in every project, from initial estimating and planning through completion. His hands-on approach, attention to detail, and commitment to quality reflect the values that have guided the company since its founding in 1987.
Even after decades in the industry, Ken continues to enjoy being on the job site, working alongside trusted craftsmen and ensuring every home meets the high standards that define Kemp Homes & Development.
Ryan Kemp
Partner
A lifelong resident of the greater Seattle area, Ryan Kemp grew up in Snohomish, Washington, where his passion for construction began at an early age. Starting at just eight years old, Ryan spent time on his father’s job sites, learning the fundamentals of the building industry by helping with everything from job site cleanup to material handling, carpentry, and equipment operation. Those early experiences developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, hard work, and the many details that go into building a quality home.
Ryan continued to build on that foundation by attending Central Washington University, earning degrees in both Business Administration and Construction Management. After graduation, he expanded his experience working with nationally recognized commercial contractors, including Hensel Phelps Construction in San Francisco and Turner Construction Company in Seattle. During this time, Ryan gained valuable experience managing complex projects, including high-rise buildings, healthcare facilities, and tenant improvement projects.
Today, Ryan brings that diverse background and expertise to Kemp Homes & Development, overseeing many of the critical components that support the company’s continued growth. His responsibilities include land development, permitting, accounting, estimating, project proposals, financial coordination, and daily operations.
Combining hands-on construction experience with strong business and project management skills, Ryan plays an integral role in carrying forward the KHD tradition of quality, integrity, and personalized service. His commitment to thoughtful planning, efficient execution, and exceptional craftsmanship helps ensure every project reflects the standards that Kemp Homes & Development has built its reputation on since 1987.
Spencer Kemp
Superintendent
A lifelong resident of Snohomish, Washington, Spencer Kemp has built his career around craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a passion for quality construction. He attended both Washington State University and Central Washington University, where he continued developing his knowledge of construction and the building industry.
During high school and college, Spencer apprenticed alongside a master craftsman in fine woodworking, gaining valuable experience in traditional craftsmanship and developing a refined eye for detail. This hands-on training shaped his approach to construction and instilled an appreciation for precision, quality materials, and the importance of exceptional workmanship.
After completing his education, Spencer expanded his experience as a superintendent and finish carpenter with BlueWave Construction in Kirkland, Washington. His background in fine woodworking and field supervision provided a strong foundation for managing complex projects while maintaining a commitment to the highest standards of quality.
Spencer began his career with Kemp Homes & Development as a finish carpenter, bringing his craftsmanship and attention to detail directly to the homes being built. Today, as a Superintendent, Spencer oversees projects throughout Snohomish, King, and Kittitas Counties, coordinating teams, managing construction progress, and ensuring every detail meets the standards that define KHD.
With a hands-on approach and a craftsman’s perspective, Spencer plays an essential role in delivering the quality, integrity, and personalized service that Kemp Homes & Development has provided since 1987.
